In order to combat fraud and unfair competition, the Member States have agreed to abolish, as of 1 January 2026, the exemption that previously applied to imports of parcels originating from third countries and valued at under €150. Initially, and for a transitional period, imports of low-value parcels are expected to be subject to a flat-rate customs duty, the amount of which has yet to be determined.
